As part of the 2016 Unearthed Pemberton Festival, I'm showing a display of artworks that feature a subject I'm drawn to again and again: the tree. For this 2 week exhibition Painting Trees at the Windmill Gallery, Northcliffe, I've 'unearthed' some early tree paintings and drawings. Also showing are recent engraved work and trees created entirely out of the landscape itself. For me, it's been a really interesting process looking back down this track at how my approach to this one element in the landscape has shifted over 3 decades. If you're heading down this way between May 2-15, please drop in. If you'd like to have a go at playing with some of the natural ingredients from the bush, I'm also running 'Art Taster' workshop on the weekends of May 7,8 and 14,15.
